Question
Why Do Babies Refuse to Drink Milk?
Answer
Vomiting is a common phenomenon during infancy, and you can try the following methods to stabilize feeding:
- Ensure the feeding amount is moderate, avoiding too much. Feed in small portions more frequently to reduce the pressure on the stomach.
- After feeding, let the baby lie on their stomach on your shoulder and gently pat their back to help expel air from the stomach.
- Feed slowly, taking brief pauses in between to allow the baby to breathe more comfortably.
- Make sure the bottle hole is evenly sized, avoiding excessive sucking, inhaling air, or milk flowing too fast and blocking the throat.
- After feeding, do not let the baby lie flat immediately; keep their upper body upright for a moment and gently pat their back. When lying down, slightly elevate the upper body, ideally on their side, to prevent food from spilling out.
- Avoid excitement and do not shake or jostle the baby after feeding.
