Question

Why Do Babies Refuse to Drink Milk?

Answer

Vomiting is a common phenomenon during infancy, and you can try the following methods to stabilize feeding:

  1. Ensure the feeding amount is moderate, avoiding too much. Feed in small portions more frequently to reduce the pressure on the stomach.
  2. After feeding, let the baby lie on their stomach on your shoulder and gently pat their back to help expel air from the stomach.
  3. Feed slowly, taking brief pauses in between to allow the baby to breathe more comfortably.
  4. Make sure the bottle hole is evenly sized, avoiding excessive sucking, inhaling air, or milk flowing too fast and blocking the throat.
  5. After feeding, do not let the baby lie flat immediately; keep their upper body upright for a moment and gently pat their back. When lying down, slightly elevate the upper body, ideally on their side, to prevent food from spilling out.
  6. Avoid excitement and do not shake or jostle the baby after feeding.
