Question

What are the symptoms of pediatric cerebral vascular spasms?

Answer

Children with cerebral vascular spasms experience dizziness that is either persistent or recurrent. The primary symptoms are vertigo with a sense of rotation, dizziness that becomes more severe when moving, a preference for staying in bed, and an avoidance of head movement. In severe cases, nausea and severe dry vomiting may occur, as well as persistent low-pitched ringing in the ears or lightheadedness. The child may also experience mood swings, anxiety, chest tightness, palpitations, shortness of breath, a sense of breathlessness, confusion, and difficulties with thinking and memory.
