Question

My daughter is four and a half months old, and her face doesn’t look rosy with a hint of white. Her lips and nail beds on her fingers are pink, is this normal? Is it possible that she has anemia?

Answer

The pinkness you describe is difficult to pinpoint exactly. Generally, as long as the child is in good spirits, has a normal diet, and is growing at a pace comparable to other children of the same age, there should be no other issues. If you still have concerns, you can take your child to the hospital for a blood test; anemia is easy to detect. Additionally, you can observe the child’s eyelids; if there is no paleness inside them, this is also an indication that the child does not have anemia.
