Question

My child is 17 days old and has jaundice. At home, I’ve given him Barley Yellow and probiotics, but he hasn’t had diarrhea only smelly farts. I breastfeed him less and most of the time, I feed him formula. What should I do? How much probiotic should a baby this small take at one time?

Answer

Infants fed on formula are prone to experiencing smelly farts again. In cases of jaundice, probiotics can be taken under medical guidance. For children under 2 years old, take 1 packet of probiotics once a day, 1 to 2 times a day; for children over 2 years old, take 1 to 2 packets once a day, 1 to 2 times a day. They can be taken with water or milk below 40°C or taken directly. Probiotics, along with Barley Yellow granules, are specifically used for treatment.
