Question

My child is four and a half years old. Lately, I don’t know why he urinates frequently during the day and doesn’t urinate at all at night. When I ask him if it hurts, he says it doesn’t, but he just feels like he needs to urinate. I would like to know what’s going on?

Answer

If your child is urinating frequently during the day but not at night, it’s likely due to increased water intake during the day. It’s recommended to not rush to a solution and observe the situation for two more days. If the child continues to have this issue, it may be due to an inflammatory urinary tract infection. It’s suggested to have a urine test done for your child to determine the appropriate treatment. If the test comes back normal, it might be a case of neurogenic frequent urination, and consulting a psychologist may be necessary.
