Question

My baby is 1 year and 5 months old. She started having a high fever yesterday and has been running a fever repeatedly. She feels better after taking some medicine, but she still has a slight fever of 37.4 degrees Celsius. How should I take these medicines?? Thank you, doctor.

Answer

Based on the baby’s current condition, the fever may be related to viral infection. If the body temperature is only 37.4 degrees Celsius, there is no need to take fever-reducing medication at this point. Instead, implement physical cooling (cooling down), such as applying a fever-reducing patch, using warm water to wipe down, soaking feet in hot water, or taking a hot bath. Additionally, if there is only a fever without other symptoms, it is not appropriate to use antibiotics arbitrarily.
