The child has been coughing for several days due to swollen tonsils and has been taking medicine, which has already improved a lot. Just after taking the medicine, they went out to play for a little while and suddenly said they had pain in the right side of the chest (chest pain). After a while, it got better, but after playing for a few more minutes, they said it hurt again. This has happened several times back and forth. I want to ask what is going on? They are in good spirits now and haven’t had this before. Do they need to go to the hospital for a thorough check-up? They are currently taking the following medications: Azithromycin syrup, Guaifenesin, and Loratadine.

Based on your description of your baby’s condition, it may just be that the cough is causing severe vibration pain in the chest. I suggest drinking more water and avoiding spicy and irritating foods. Since children are younger, their descriptions of pain may not be very accurate. As long as the child is in good spirits and there are no other symptoms, there should be no major problems. I recommend continuing to observe, keep warm, and drink more warm water.
