Question

My baby’s jaundice level is 238 at one month old. Is this serious? I haven’t received any treatment yet. What should I do?

Answer

Jaundice is common in newborns and usually subsides after about a month. If jaundice persists at one month old, it may indicate pathological jaundice. Although a jaundice index of 238 is not severe and does not pose a great danger, it still requires standardized treatment. High levels of jaundice can affect brain cells and potentially impact the child’s intelligence or other aspects of development.
