Question

I am currently experiencing a fever of 37.6 degrees Celsius during breastfeeding. Can I continue to breastfeed my baby? If my temperature is high, can I take a compound zinc lozenge? How much should I take? How long after the fever breaks can I breastfeed again?

Answer

There are two scenarios for fever during breastfeeding: it could be breast infection or another infectious disease, which needs to be diagnosed. If there is pain in the breasts, it may indicate breast infection. In this situation, breastfeeding can continue. If the temperature exceeds 38.5 degrees Celsius, fever-reducing drugs can be taken, with one bag of medication being sufficient for an oral dose. However, since it contains chlorphenamine malate, it is not recommended to take a compound zinc lozenge. Paracetamol alone can be used. If there is a problem with the breasts, it is advisable not to get angry and to maintain a good mood.
