Question
What are the causes of children’s navel pain?
Answer
Navel pain in children may be due to intestinal or biliary roundworm disease. The main symptoms of intestinal roundworm disease include sudden, severe colicky pain under the breastbone or in the upper right abdomen, with the child bending over, holding their abdomen, being restless, moaning, sweating profusely, and having a pale complexion. Vomiting is common, and the vomit may contain bile and worms. In some cases, secondary biliary infections may occur, leading to chills, fever, and occasionally jaundice.
