Question

My 5-month-old baby frequently sweats at the hands and feet, accompanied by crying uncontrollably and refusing to eat. What should I do?

Answer

It is suggested to check for mineral deficiencies in the baby, as a lack of calcium can lead to excessive sweating. If indeed deficient, timely calcium supplementation should be given. While supplementing with calcium, it is also advisable to take fish liver oil or get sunlight to promote calcium absorption. Regular follow-ups are necessary. Additionally, external use of talcum powder (Golden Bean) is recommended against, as the baby may ingest it, and the safety of current products is questionable. There were reports last year that adding talc to baby powder was not beneficial for babies.
