Question

My baby was just born, and I don’t know what’s going on, but there are always red spots on his body, and he also spits up milk. Could the baby have a low fever when teething?

Answer

For temperatures below 38.5℃, it is advisable to choose physical cooling methods: use warm water to wipe the body, apply slightly cool water to the forehead, rub alcohol on the palm of the hand, and use fever-reducing patches. If the temperature rises above 38.5℃, fever-reducing medication or suppositories are needed. Babies should start supplementing calcium from full month old, and it is recommended to continue until they are 2 or 3 years old. Calcium supplementation also involves absorption issues; even if you take more, it’s useless if it’s not absorbed. At the same time, supplementing AD (cod liver oil) can help with calcium absorption and prevent rickets.
