Question
Is it normal for a baby to have a temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius without any symptoms?
Answer
If a baby’s temperature is below 38.5 degrees Celsius, it is advisable to observe first without immediately administering fever-reducing medication or injections. Ensure the baby drinks plenty of water and check if the environmental temperature is too high. In the hot summer, since babies have less ability to regulate their body temperature, a slight rise in temperature may be normal. However, such fever usually does not last long; you can place the baby in a cooler area, gently fan them, offer some cool juice, or give the baby a warm bath. The body temperature should return to normal within a few hours. In winter, if the indoor temperature is too high and the baby is overdressed, this may also cause an increase in body temperature.
