Question

What diseases can pediatric surgery treat? What symptoms fall under the purview of internal medicine? How is pediatric colonoscopy performed?

Answer

  1. Prepare the necessary items and the patient and environment at the bedside, similar to a large volume unrestricted colonoscopy.
  2. Lubricate the rectal tube, connect the irrigating solution to the rectal tube, release any air bubbles, and clamp the rectal tube. Insert the tube 7 to 10 cm, release the clamp to allow the solution to flow fully into the rectum. After washing, inject 5 to 10 ml of warm water.
  3. Gently squeeze the rectal tube and withdraw it. Instruct the patient to retain the bowel wash for 10 to 20 minutes before defecating.
