Leukemia is a malignant tumor, a type of clonal hematopoietic stem cell abnormality. In the bone marrow and other hematopoietic tissues, leukemia cells proliferate and accumulate in large numbers, infiltrating other organs and tissues, while simultaneously suppressing normal hematopoiesis. Treatment is relatively complicated, and the most advanced treatment currently involves arsenic compounds to induce apoptosis.
