Question
How should heatstroke in infants be handled?
Answer
Heatstroke is a fever resulting from a disorder in the temperature regulation center, often related to hot weather or sun exposure. At present, it is a moderate fever. It is recommended to go to the hospital for intramuscular injection of an antipyretic needle, accompanied by oral antipyretic medication such as Qian, and take some heat-relieving medicine, along with physical cooling measures. If it’s heatstroke, once the temperature drops, it will gradually improve. It is suggested to rest in a cool and shaded place. Homemade yogurt can be given to the baby if the process is well-controlled and the quality is good. However, as yogurt is a fermented food, do not suddenly give too much to the baby.
