Question

Newborn Illness: What Causes Newborn Anorexia?

Answer

Newborns, due to their underdeveloped brains and tendency to become fatigued and fall asleep, require ample deep sleep to ensure the growth and maturation of all organs. Most newborns sleep for about 20 hours a day. At two months, they typically spend around 18 hours in deep sleep, but it’s not necessary to strictly adhere to the recommendations in books when comparing their sleep schedules. As long as the child is eating well and seems content, there’s no need to worry even if they don’t meet the general recommendations for sleep duration.
