Question

What are the symptoms of pediatric cerebral palsy?

Answer

The symptoms of pediatric cerebral palsy commonly include intellectual disability and visual impairments. Approximately 50% of children with cerebral palsy have mild to moderate intellectual disability, with 25% having severe intellectual disability. This is one of the most common symptoms to manifest in pediatric cerebral palsy. In terms of visual impairments, more than half of the symptoms of pediatric cerebral palsy involve visual impairments, with the most common being strabismus and refractive errors such as myopia and amblyopia; very few have nystagmus, and occasionally, complete blindness.
