Question
Why is my baby’s lymphocyte absolute value high?
Answer
There’s nothing abnormal about your baby. Because before the age of 4-6, children experience a vigorous development of the lymphatic system, which naturally results in a higher proportion of lymphocytes among white blood cells. So, your child’s higher lymphocyte absolute value and lower neutrophil count are not indicative of any abnormality. Of course, if your child has had a cold recently, there could also be a possibility of viral infection.
