Question

The baby has been crying and fussing a lot recently, and isn’t eating much. Is it okay for the baby to drink rice soup as water?

Answer

It’s generally okay to have it, but there’s no need. This is something you might do when the baby isn’t eating, offering milk or formula when there’s no milk. It’s not like these are the only options. Things are more abundant now than they used to be, so there’s no need to have them. Of course, it’s not that they can’t eat it; it’s just that it’s not very nutritious. It’s quite normal. Many babies can lift their heads a few days after birth, but that’s about it. After the first month, they mostly stop lifting their heads. If you let them lie on their stomach, they’ll chew on the bedsheet or their own hands. That’s because they’re getting smarter and know how to be lazy.
