Question
At what age can children eat boiled eggs? My child has been very disobedient lately, crying and fussing non-stop. We’ve gone to the hospital for checks, but nothing seems to help. What should we do?
Answer
When introducing boiled eggs to children, it’s recommended to start with small amounts and gradually. Initially, you can mix steamed eggs into your child’s rice. Then, whisk the whole egg into an egg yolk and cook it with congee, adding a suitable amount of oil and salt. But remember, start slowly; don’t feed too much at once. You can first try feeding 1/3 of an egg, observe if your child can digest it, and then gradually increase the amount over time. Based on the symptoms you mentioned, it is mainly due to weak spleen and stomach and poor digestion, leading to diarrhea. Treatment should focus on strengthening the spleen and stomach, stopping diarrhea, and can include medications such as Mamyai and Simida, along with pediatric massage therapy.
