Question

When can babies start eating vegetable puree?

Answer

Babies as young as four months can begin to try vegetable purees and other complementary foods. Fruit purees, vegetable purees, and other easily digestible foods are all options, but be cautious not to add any other ingredients to the food. Introduce new foods one at a time to see which ones your baby prefers. It’s recommended to give your baby some steamed eggs or shrimp and egg steamed rice between meals, spaced about an hour apart. At this age, babies can basically eat a variety of rice dishes without any special preparation. However, to spark your baby’s interest, it’s best to have some variety in each meal.
