Question

My child has been crying and not eating much recently. How do I help my baby break the nighttime feeding habit?

Answer

I suggest you first delay his last feeding before bedtime to around 10 or 11 PM, and make sure he is well-fed. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, comfort him and give him water instead of feeding him immediately; don’t worry, he won’t be hungry. (The doctor said that it’s okay if he’s a bit hungry at night; sleeping doesn’t consume much energy. The purpose is for him to eat well during the day.) Give him water or feed him only if he’s fussy.
