Question

My son is six months old. Are there any recipes I can give him to eat? I’m always worried about what to feed him every day.

Answer

Hello:)To help your baby gradually adapt to new foods, start by offering diluted soups and juices to spark his interest. You can dilute adult soup 2-3 times, cooling it to body temperature, and feed it before breastfeeding. Juice can be fed directly after adding water or mixed with powdered milk for consumption. (2) Gradually increase the quantity and variety of complementary foods. When introducing a new complementary food, increase the portion size gradually to avoid rushing and causing failure. For example, a four-month-old baby can start with egg yolks, beginning with 1/4 of an egg. If the child digests well, increase to 1/2 an egg after a week, and then gradually to a whole egg. By six months old, the baby can start eating whole eggs. When introducing new complementary foods, add only one new type at a time to avoid introducing multiple new foods simultaneously. (3) From thin to thick, soft before hard. Babies aged 1-3 months can consume liquid foods such as rice porridge, vegetable soup, and juices. As they grow older, gradually introduce solid foods like thin porridge, soft noodles, and biscuits. If a baby doesn’t like the new complementary food on the first try, it may affect future eating habits. Therefore, the first new complementary food offered should be made softer.
