Question
What are the reasons for a newborn or an infant up to 2 months old to have a high body temperature?
Answer
The normal armpit body temperature for a baby should be between 36℃ and 37℃, and a temperature above 37.4℃ is considered a fever. Under certain factors such as higher evening temperatures, after eating, crying, or exercise, a baby’s body temperature may temporarily rise. Additionally, wearing too many clothes or a high room temperature can also cause an increase in body temperature. If the baby is in good general condition, lively, and shows no other symptoms or signs, this temporary and slight fluctuation in body temperature is usually not considered pathological.
