Questions

What is the optimal age for pediatric hernia surgery? What kind of diseases can pediatric surgery treat? Which symptoms belong to pediatric internal medicine?

Answers

A hernia occurs when a part of the body’s tissue or organ detaches from its original position and enters another part through a gap, defect, or weak area. Common types include umbilical hernias, inguinal hernias, and indirect hernias. Hernias may be caused by factors such as coughing, sneezing, overexertion, abdominal obesity, straining during bowel movements, pregnancy in women, excessive crying in infants, and weakening of the abdominal wall in the elderly. In the early stages, small hernias can be treated conservatively with a hernia belt, but this does not cure the condition. For adult hernias, surgery is currently the only method of cure.
