Question

What Are the Symptoms of Inhalational Pneumonia?

Answer

The symptoms of inhalational pneumonia are related to the patient’s physical condition. Inhaling vomit may trigger laryngeal reflex spasms and bronchial irritation, leading to wheezing and severe cough. For inhalational pneumonia caused by esophageal or bronchial fistulas, treatment can be administered with symptomatic anti-inflammatory medication. Additionally, cough or phlegm can be treated with fresh bamboo decoction or children’s Mahan Gan granules. In severe cases, intravenous fluid therapy is recommended. Dietarily, it is advisable to consume light and easily digestible foods as the main course, supplemented with some refreshing, cooling, tender, and juicy foods.
