Question
I want to ask, my baby was vaccinated twice right after birth, and after discharge, how long should I wait before taking my baby for the next vaccination?
Answer
Vaccination for infants follows a fixed schedule. Your baby will receive the Hepatitis B vaccine and BCG vaccine within 24 hours of birth. At 2 months old, they will take the oral polio vaccine. Then, at 3, 4, and 5 months old, they will receive the DTP vaccine and the oral polio vaccine respectively. At 6 months old, they will get another Hepatitis B vaccine, and at 8 months old, the Measles vaccine. In winter every year, they can receive the Meningitis vaccine when they are 8 months old. By 2 years old, they need a booster dose of the DTP vaccine, and at 4 years old, they will take the oral polio vaccine. At 7 years old, they will receive a booster dose of the Measles and DTP vaccines. These are routine infant vaccines that must be administered according to the prescribed schedule, with a 30-day interval between each vaccination.
