Question
Over the past two months, the child has dislocated their right arm twice during play and their left arm once. They haven’t been to the hospital for a check-up yet.
Answer
After successful reset of joint dislocation, the arm can be raised normally, but if there is damage to the joint capsule, there may be semi-dislocation. It is recommended that you go to a regular hospital for an X-ray examination. If the reset is good, use a triangular bandage to suspend the upper limb, keeping the elbow joint flexed at 90 degrees, with a cotton pad in the armpit, and immobilize it for three weeks to allow the joint capsule to recover, thus preventing further dislocation.
