Question

My daughter (12 years old) has been diagnosed with osteochondroma of the right femoral head and a small amount of effusion in both hip joints. What should we do?

Answer

Femoral head necrosis, also known as osteonecrosis of the femoral head, is a common orthopedic disease. This condition is often caused by diseases such as rheumatism, blood diseases, diving diseases, or burns. It first destroys the blood supply to the articular surface tissue around the femoral head, leading to femoral head necrosis. Currently, there is no effective treatment for femoral head necrosis, and medication has limited effects. Consideration can be given to artificial hip joint replacement surgery.
