Question

What’s causing the fever and cough in a one and a half-year-old boy?

Answer

After two days of having a low-grade fever, the child was taken to the hospital for intravenous drip treatment. Although the fever was gone, the child began experiencing severe coughing. This situation might be due to wind-cold cough. Wind-cold cough is caused by exposure to wind and cold, characterized by frequent coughing, thin, white phlegm, clear nasal discharge, pale or redish tongue, heavy cough sounds, and headache with fever. It is recommended to use San Nao Soup along with medications that reduce gas and resolve phlegm.
