Question

Is it normal for a baby to not roll over at five months old? What are some methods to help a baby learn to roll over?

Answer

Every baby develops at a different pace, with some rolling over as early as three months and others not until seven months. My child learned to roll over at four and a half months. A colleague was worried about her six-month-old baby who still hadn’t rolled over, but the baby was very healthy. If you’re concerned about your baby learning to roll over later, you can help your baby by encouraging them, mainly to stimulate their interest in rolling over and let them try it themselves. For example, you can use toys that your baby likes and need to play on their stomach to attract their attention.
