Can a child’s fever be caused by an infection?

There are many reasons why a child might have a fever, which can be divided into two main categories: infectious and non-infectious. Infectious fevers include various acute infectious diseases, upper respiratory infections, tracheitis, pneumonia, otitis media, sepsis, skin infections, urinary tract infections, purulent meningitis, etc.; while non-infectious fevers include diseases of connective tissue, drug fever, heat stroke, tumors, leukemia, and central nervous system fever after cranial and brain trauma.
