Question
Can a 10-month-old baby eat rice?
Answer
A 10-month-old baby can already consume many types of complementary foods, typically eating three meals a day. However, it is advised not to introduce rice at this stage, as the child’s ability to absorb nutrients is not yet fully developed. It is suggested to wait until the baby reaches one year old before starting to feed them rice. The recommended diet includes breast milk or iron-fortified formula, iron-fortified rice or other grain powders, yellow and green vegetables, fruits, and small amounts of protein-rich foods such as poultry, tofu, and meats. Additionally, some foods that can trigger allergic reactions, such as peanut butter, milk, shellfish, citrus fruits, and the protein part of eggs, are recommended to be fed after one year or even longer.
