Due to the malfunction of the eustachian tube, flying can easily lead to acute otitis media due to factors such as middle ear pressure. Therefore, it is recommended to consider flying only after the eustachian tube function is normal or after tympanic membrane tube placement, when the middle ear’s internal and external pressures are balanced.
