Question

My child just gave birth, and I don’t know what happened, but there are always red spots on their body, and they keep vomiting. What is the process for neonatal resuscitation after suffocation?

Answer

Neonatal suffocation often occurs due to compression during childbirth or issues like umbilical cord around the neck. First, pinch the baby’s nose with one hand, then cover the baby’s nose and mouth with a paper, blowing air into the baby’s lungs until you see the baby’s chest rise. After two consecutive rounds of artificial respiration, perform chest compressions by pressing on the lower third of the sternum. The depth of compression should be about one-third of the front and back chest diameter. The ratio of chest compressions to artificial respiration is two rounds of respiration for every 15 compressions. After 5 cycles, check the baby’s condition.
