Question

What’s causing the 3-month-old baby to still drool? What should we do? Are there any good solutions? Thank you!

Answer

Hello, drooling in babies is mostly a normal physiological occurrence. Around 6 to 7 months, babies start teething and introducing solid foods. These foods often stimulate nerves and salivary glands, leading to an increase in saliva production. Since babies have a smaller oral capacity and do not swallow or regulate saliva in time, drooling can occur when saliva accumulates. As the baby grows and their oral functions improve, this drooling will naturally stop, so there is generally no need for treatment.
