Question

My child sometimes says their stomach hurts, but it quickly goes away and has never taken any worming medicine. Now the child is coughing; can they take a worming medicine? What kind of medicine is suitable?

Answer

Parents should not panic first and should observe the child’s daily situation. If it’s just simple grinding of the teeth, it cannot be determined that there are worms. Grinding teeth could be caused by other reasons, such as teething or indigestion. If the child shows obvious unwillingness to eat, weight loss, or overeating but not gaining weight, suddenly waking up at night, with oval white spots on the face or neck, and stomach pain concentrated around the navel, which goes away after a while, these may be signs of worms inside the body.
