Question
My little one is 57 days old. They had good bowel movements at birth, but have been constipated since one month old, sometimes going only every six days. I’ve been using a rectal suppository to help with bowel movements. I’d like to know if there are better methods and whether I should be worried about frequent constipation in babies?
Answer
Baby constipation is mainly due to insufficient dietary fiber intake. It is recommended to increase the baby’s intake of vegetables, perform gentle abdominal massage, stretching exercises, and use external ointments to promote bowel movements. If the problem persists, consult a doctor for professional advice and treatment.
