Question
I’ve been pregnant for three months, and recently, every evening when I measure my body temperature, it’s consistently around 37.4 degrees. This has been going on for a while now. Is it true that pregnant women tend to have higher body temperatures? What impact does this have on the baby, and I personally have no symptoms. What treatment options are available?
Answer
Basal body temperature tends to be elevated during pregnancy and can last up to 16 weeks. Therefore, experiencing a sudden fever in the early stages of pregnancy can be uncomfortable. At 37℃, there is no abnormality in the body and there is no need to worry. However, if it persists above 37.5℃, there may be other underlying conditions, and it is best to have a detailed medical examination by a doctor.
