Question

How do I solve the persistent diarrhea in a 4-day-old baby?

Answer

Since birth, the baby has had a lot of water in their stool, sometimes with mucus like snot, sometimes yellow or green, with a normal body temperature. They are breastfed and often wake up with hiccups after feeding. The doctor said it’s enteritis, and a detailed stool examination only showed a positive occult blood test. The stool became thicker two or three times after taking anti-inflammatory medication, but then returned to its original state and now contains an odor. I often felt nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.
