Question
Which treatment methods for children with epilepsy are effective?
Answer
For pediatric epilepsy, a Brain Electroencephalogram (EEG) can be performed to locate the focus of the disease. If the focus can be accurately identified, surgical treatment may be considered. If the focus cannot be located, multiple antiepileptic drugs need to be used, and the medication dosage should be adjusted regularly based on the child’s weight gain. Once an effective dose to control epilepsy seizures is found, it is usually necessary to continue medication for 3 to 5 years.
