Question

How to treat myopia in a 7-year-old child?

Answer

Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is an eye refractive condition related to the curvature of the cornea. Due to uneven thickness or curvature of the cornea, the refractive rates of different meridians of the cornea are inconsistent, causing light passing through these meridians to fail to converge at a single focal point. As a result, light cannot accurately focus on the retina to form a clear image, which is known as myopia. Currently, the main method for correcting myopia is through wearing glasses, with no other better or safer treatment methods available.
