Question

What are the symptoms of a baby with rhinitis?

Answer

The symptoms of baby rhinitis include runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, and itching. These symptoms may be caused by viral infections or other factors, and the effectiveness of medication treatment may be limited as the concentration of medication reaching the nasal mucosa is already low. For older babies, some medications can be used to help shrink the nasal mucosa, but we do not recommend using these medications before the age of three; children can only recover naturally. Babies are prone to upper respiratory infections, and many babies will develop symptoms of rhinitis after such infections. Typically, upper respiratory infections can heal in about seven days, but the runny nose may last for a long time, possibly over a month, at which point there may be signs of rhinitis.
