Question
Recently, my daughter (five months old) has been frequently vomiting, with all the milk coming out shortly after feeding, which was never the case before. She has never received any related treatment, and I would like to know what the cause could be?
Answer
- Change the baby’s diaper before feeding and avoid moving the baby’s body after feeding.
- When the baby is lying down, the head should be slightly elevated, and the body should be kept in a right-side sleeping position to allow milk in the stomach to flow smoothly through the pylorus to the duodenum.
- Wrap a small towel around the baby’s neck to prevent vomit from flowing onto the skin.
- After each feeding, hold the baby upright and gently pat on the back until they burp. If the baby chokes or turns blue with purple lips after spilling milk, immediately place them on your lap face down with their head lower. After the baby’s color returns, take them to the hospital immediately for further treatment.
