Question

My baby is 87 days old and has been breastfed. Recently, his stool has been a bit green, and I haven’t given him anything else. What could be the reason? Please answer quickly!!!!!!! Additional question: What does “fat production” mean???

Answer

Breastfed infants’ stool is usually yellow or golden yellow, smooth like cream, and odorless, with more bowel movements, generally 2 to 4 times a day, and some may reach 7 to 8 times. This is called physiological diarrhea. Parents do not need to worry; this is a normal phenomenon that will disappear automatically as the child grows to a certain stage. Children fed with milk have fewer bowel movements, about 1 to 2 times a day, with a slight odor.
