Question

What should be noticed during the recovery period of pediatric bronchitis pneumonia?

Answer

At the beginning of the illness, symptoms such as fatigue, headache, sore throat, chills, fever, muscle aches, decreased appetite, nausea, and vomiting may occur, with headache being particularly prominent. The fever can vary in intensity, sometimes reaching up to 39°C. After 2 to 3 days, distinct respiratory symptoms may appear, such as paroxysmal stimulating coughing, coughing up small amounts of sticky phlegm or purulent mucus, and occasionally blood may be present in the sputum. The fever can last for 2 to 3 weeks. After the fever returns to normal, coughing may still persist, accompanied by pain under the sternum, but there is no chest pain. It is important to maintain clear airways and clear nasal secretions.
