The baby’s symptoms may be due to anal dermatitis caused by diaper rash. It is recommended to clean the area with warm water daily and use medications such as purple root oil. If the baby also has diarrhea, a temporary dose of Simethicone may be administered. It is advisable to avoid using impermeable diapers or disposable nappies.
