Question

Is it normal for a fetus to have a little bit of hydrocephalus?

Answer

The treatment for slight hydrocephalus can be divided into non-surgical and surgical options. Non-surgical treatments mainly include dehydration therapy and general supportive therapy. If the intraventricular pressure exceeds 250 millimeters of water column, or if non-surgical treatments are ineffective, surgical treatment may be required, such as ventriculoatrial shunting, ventriculoseptal shunting, or ventriculoperitoneal shunting. The latter is more commonly used due to its high safety and fewer complications. Postoperative care should be taken to prevent complications such as shunt obstruction, endocarditis, and sepsis.
