Question

My baby, who is two and a half years old, cries out for stomach pain multiple times a day. When I ask if it’s pain or hunger, sometimes they say they’re hungry, and sometimes they say they’re in pain. I haven’t seen any specific signs of pain, and I feel quite confused.

Answer

Based on your description, considering your child may have gastrointestinal dysfunction and indigestion, this is a very common condition in young children as their gastrointestinal tract is not yet fully mature. I suggest giving your child oral probiotics to rebalance their intestinal function. Commonly used ones include Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Bacillus subtilis. You can choose one type for your child to take for more than a week to see the effect. In the meantime, you can use a warm towel to massage your child’s abdomen to enhance absorption.
